Following his Masters in Philosophy at the LSE, Spiro Fernando was admitted to Trinity College of Music, where he was classically trained. He has been a professional opera singer since 2004, singing in such venues as the Royal Albert Hall, Bergen National Opera House, and St James’s Palace, and such festivals as the Aldeburgh Festival, and the Bregenz Festival in Austria.

As well as singing, he was also accepted onto the three-year course in ‘Piano Tuning and Restoration’, at the internationally renowned Newark College Piano School, the UK centre of excellence for piano tuning, restoration, and repair, where he not only passed all of the requisite exams but also obtained the Diploma (Dip CMIT). He is a fully qualified piano technician, having gained a wealth of knowledge from his time there, and considers himself very fortunate indeed to be able to divide his time now between opera and piano tuning.
